Zero impact holidays in Alta Val Pusteria

L'Alta Pusteria, with the municipalities of Sesto, San Candido, Dobbiaco, Villabassa and Braies, for thesummer 2012 has launched a project dedicated to protecting the environment to make the holiday of those who visit it zero impact.

Tourists can in fact fill out a questionnaire to calculate their own ecological footprint generated by the journey to reach Alta Pusteria and by the energy used on average during your stay.

L'Tourist Association local will purchase the CO2 credits necessary to offset the ecological impact of the holiday, thanks to the collaboration with Dobbiaco - San Candido district heating plant.

Dobbiaco, for its attention to environmental protection, it was awarded in 2009 the Legambiente award and today it constitutes an example of a tourist resort capable of combining the maximum comfort of the infrastructure with eco-sustainability.

Thanks to the district heating plant, all the municipalities of Val Pusteria can now have heating without polluting and in the next few years an increasing portion of electricity will also be produced thanks to the plant.

Among the destinations not to be missed on your holiday in Alta Pusteria are certainly the Dolomites with the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site and which you can enjoy in this video:

The Braies Lake, the Collegiate Church of San Candido, the Kneipp path of the Kurpark of Villabassa and the breathtaking spectacle of the Dolomites that you can enjoy from Monte Elmo these are some of the opportunities that you can appreciate, of which we offer some shots in our PHOTOGALLERY ON THE ALTA VAL PUSTERIA.
